oh no he didn't!

Yesterday Grey asked me about why people fight and kill each other.  I very clumsily attempted to answer with truth. I explained that we were created to desire God and that we were made to know Him.  When we are without Him we feel hungry or sick because we need Him and want Him.  When that is the case, our life can be full of sin, like hate, jealousy, and anger and these things can cause us to hurt other people.  He got very concerned and said, "you are jealous all the time!".  Well, of course, I tried to justify that my jealousy for someone else's ice cream cone, as an example, is "silly" and not harmful.  Since he could tell that I was struggling for words, he clarified by asking, "you mean it is dramatic? and lame?".  Well!  Who does my child think he is??? using such vocabulary (made me proud)!??!?  I may be dramatic, when needed, but I am never lame!

I love hearing the cute things kids say. You dramatic? of course not! hahaha Lame is a badge of honor all of us parents wear. We haven't done our jobs if our kids dont think we are lame at some point.
